Without this generosity, children in need from disadvantaged local communities would not have the opportunity to work with a tutor to overcome their struggles with reading. Your gift gives children the chance to succeed in school and in life.

Children's Literacy is in a State of Crisis

In California, 88% of fourth-graders from low-income communities are reading below grade level. Read more NEED
For a healthy society, it's critical we have a literate, educated population.
Reading Partners focuses on reaching children early when they begin to struggle with reading.
In some of our schools, Reading Partners is the only reading intervention program offered due to significant budget cuts in 2009.

Make a commitment to support children with a recurring monthly or quarterly gift.
Make a one-time special gift.
Ask your friends to forego traditional wedding, birthday or anniversary gifts and instead ask them to make a gift to Reading Partners in your name.

Students Improve Reading Skills & Self Confidence

Students, on average, accelerate an entire grade level in reading skills after only 30 hours of Reading Partners tutoring.
