Legal assistant, mother, and tutor — how I play multiple roles

Menlo Park law firm Hogan Lovells has been a great source of support for Taft Community School’s reading center. Three employees of the law firm travel down the street for a refreshing hour (or two) of tutoring. Vanessa caught the tutoring bug when she tried Reading Partners out at Hogan Lovells’ One Day of Service event back in January. When asked about how she juggles her role as a legal assistant, mother, and tutor, she makes it sound easy. This is her advice:

In our field, it’s hard to get away, but I tell people that if you schedule it right and schedule it before you even check your emails, you can do it … There are schools everywhere, so it’s easy to find a place close by.
