SF Bay Area
Volunteer with us
Our volunteers become so much more than just reading partners. By sharing their knowledge and experience, they become mentors, friends, and positive role models to the children they work with. Working one-on-one with a student is a fun, effective way to change a life—maybe even your own.
- Be at least 14 years old
- Pass a background check
- Commit a minimum of one hour per week on a recurring schedule
- Most reading centers are open Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm. (Hours may vary by school site)
Make a donation
Every dollar raised means students in your reading center have the resources they need to succeed.
Reading Partners Young Professionals (RPYP) is a community of emerging leaders who are paving the way for a brighter future for students across the Bay Area. Representing a variety of sectors, this group is committed to empowering students and raising awareness for literacy through a variety of activities. For information about events and how to get involved, contact Andrea Edelman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Host a book drive
By hosting a book drive for Reading Partners you can help students in local elementary schools build their home libraries.
Local businesses, individuals, and organizations can help Reading Partners expand our Take Reading Home selections in local elementary schools so that students can start building their very own home libraries. We accept donations of new and gently used children’s books ranging in level from kindergarten to fourth grade, of varying topics and genres.
When you share your support of Reading Partners on social media, you can help others join the literacy movement.
