    Dean Elson

    Dean_ElsonChief Knowledge Officer Dean joined Reading Partners in July 2011 to lead research & evaluation of the Reading Partners program. He is responsible for increasing the organization’s evidence based practices by designing and managing independent research and evaluation studies, leading annual monitoring and evaluation activities, and supervising data analyses of student and school performance. Over the past decade, Dean has held roles of increasing responsibility in nonprofit leadership, program development and policy, early childhood education evaluation, and data analysis for K-12 school and district accountability. Prior to Reading Partners, Dean served as vice president for research & evaluation at Jumpstart for Young Children. Dean also worked at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education from 1999-2004. He has held advisory roles on Jumpstart’s Massachusetts board of advisors, the Boston Mayor’s Thrive in Five Data and Research Team (DART), and Associated Early Care and Education’s EQUIP Data Advisory Board. Dean has a joint master’s degree from Tufts University in child development and urban & environmental policy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Duke University.
