    Megan Fischer

    Program manager

When Megan was in first grade, her class went on a field trip to their local library, and all of them were given library cards. Along with their cards, the librarians asked them to take what they called “The Oath of Readers” in which they promised to do their best to read one book every week. Megan took that oath seriously, reading everything she could find, and she fell in love with the world of books.  Because she loves reading, she pursued a Master’s Degree in English Literature at Eastern Kentucky University, and because she also felt passionately about sharing that love of reading with students, she earned a Master’s Degree in Education at Morehead State University. Megan has been a teacher, a trainer, an instructional leader, a department chair, a curriculum designer, a professional development leader, a program coordinator, and a mentor teacher/coach. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in literacy education and advocacy with her to Reading Partners. She is thrilled and grateful to join an organization in which she so enthusiastically believes.  Megan is a big fan of picnics, hikes, and all dogs. Also, she's never met a cheese she didn’t like. Oh, and as you might have guessed, she's an avid reader. All these years later, she still read one book a week, every single week.
