Rebecca found passion in tutoring kids for her Bat Mitzvah project

When Rebecca started volunteering with Reading Partners as a service project for her Bat Mitzvah she didn’t quite know what to expect but was excited to get started. At just 13 years old, Rebecca falls one year short of tutoring age, but was able to start co-tutoring with her mother, a regular volunteer with Reading Partners.

What first started as a responsibility, quickly turned into a passion. She looked forward to seeing her student and participating in the sessions. During her Bat Mitzvah, Rebecca gave a moving speech about her eye opening, and all around fantastic experience volunteering as a reading partner.

She recreated some of that speech here and it’s easy to see her passion.
