Nadine Figaro
Nadine is a financial strategist with more than a decade of experience in public education, holding leadership roles in both a large urban school district and a multi-state charter school network. She views finance as more than numbers on a page—it is a way to ensure that investments truly advance a shared, service-oriented mission. Over the course of her career, she has worked to align financial planning with organizational goals, strengthen operational efficiency, and support long-term sustainability.
Most recently, as director of financial planning & analysis at Achievement First, Nadine led the development of data visualization tools and designed multi-year financial sustainability strategies that helped schools in underfunded states reduce reliance on donor contributions. At the Department of Education, she advanced divisional budgeting practices, shifting toward program-efficiency based budgeting models to improve resource allocation and ensure more strategic and equitable funding methodology implementations.
She is eager to bring her commitment to financial strategy to Reading Partners’ work in building lifelong readers among the next generation of voters, teachers, and parents.
Outside of her professional life, Nadine enjoys traveling. Her favorite destinations include Aswan, Egypt and Pisa, Italy. She has a deep love for animals of all kinds, and her favorite books are The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Native Son, and The Book of Forgiving: The Fourfold Path for Healing Ourselves and Our World.
