Over 10 years, Reading Partners Minnesota has delivered over 131,000 tutoring sessions to 2,870 students. We’ve consistently shown up for students, and your gift ensures we’ll be here for the next decade of readers across the state.

2. Results You Can See

Our program gets results: last year, 85% of students met or exceeded their literacy growth goals, and 88% of K-2 students mastered the foundational skills to read at grade level. Your donation directly funds a program that gives students the support they need to become lifelong readers.

3. Volunteers Like Dixie Make Magic Happen

Meet Dixie Grace: this fall, she completed her 1,000th tutoring session over 10 years. “You can see the kids become more confident,” she says. “It’s wonderfully validating.” Your donation supports the training, coaching, and support that empowers over 600 volunteers like Dixie to change lives one hour at a time.

4. Our Program is Student-Centered

Our program provides individualized support for students who are reading behind grade level. Reading Partners meets every student where they are, providing high-dosage tutoring with a consistent mentor to accelerate their learning. Reading Partners student Isabella shared the importance of working with a dedicated tutor: “I like how they’re patient with me, and they don’t rush me. It helps me understand it more [that she will] stop, pause, and talk to me about it.”

5. Books Go Home, Learning Continues

Reading Partners Minnesota has expanded our book distribution programs to meet the needs of students and families. Last year, we distributed nearly 15,000 books to help students build personal libraries. When you give, you’re not just funding tutoring, you’re putting books in the hands of children to extend learning beyond the classroom and spark a love of reading at home.

100% of principals and teachers identify Reading Partners as a valuable asset to their schools. As one principal shared: “Our partnership with Reading Partners has directly contributed to significant growth in student achievement, particularly in literacy. This growth is not only evident in data, but in the growing confidence and motivation of our students”  Your gift strengthens partnerships at 11 reading centers across the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota.

7. We’re Growing to Meet the Need

After 10 years of success, we’re growing to serve more students than ever! This year, we’ll provide individualized support to over 600 students in our schools while expanding partnerships with organizations like CommonBond Communities and Hennepin County Libraries to provide high-quality tutoring after school. Growth requires resources and your donation helps us scale our impact.

8. Minnesota’s Reading Crisis Needs Solutions Now

As a result of the pandemic, reading proficiency rates had the largest average score decline since 1990, exacerbating Minnesota’s existing opportunity gap. While federal tutoring funds have ended, the need for sustainable, community-powered tutoring programs like Reading Partners are more critical than ever.
