Opal Lee known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” made history when she was present as President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law making June 19th of every year a national holiday. NBC 5’s Laura Harris talks about the journey Lee has been on over the years.
