If you tutor, you make a difference

When I decided to become a reading partner I was really nervous. I wondered how was I going to do and how would I affect a child if I made a mistake. But I soon realized that just my presence and effort make a difference; if you’re a tutor, you have the ability to make a difference.

My little scholar, Neveah, is in the first grade. When we first started working together, she was really shy and wouldn’t say too much. But as time passed, she opened up and showed that she was willing to learn. I’ve talked to her mom, dad, and her teacher about her progress. She’s doing fantastic! She looks forward to coming to Reading Partners and I look forward to seeing her grow as a reader.

Reading Partners does make a difference in the scholars. They are excited to come learn and even share what they do over their breaks or on the weekends. I absolutely love knowing that I am changing the life of a child.
