Jillian Smith

Jill’s love for reading and belief in the power of education to open the doors of opportunity are what drives her dedication and enthusiasm. Jill served with Reading Partners Baltimore from 2014-2015 as a site coordinator and witnessed the difference one tutor can make in the life of one child when using an evidence-based, user-friendly curriculum. Jill has a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge and has completed coursework in literacy instruction and child development from Baltimore City Community College. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in nonprofit management and social entrepreneurship from the University of Baltimore. Her background in the nonprofit sector, as a two-term AmeriCorps alum, and in education demonstrates her passion for literacy and service. She is very excited to continue her work with students, families, and community members to promote literacy and a lifelong love for reading and education.
