Rebecca Greenberg-Ellis

Rebecca Greenberg-Ellis is a trailblazer in philanthropic leadership and nonprofit fundraising, bringing more than 15 years of experience to her role as chief growth officer at Reading Partners. A passionate advocate for educational equity, Rebecca has a proven track record of securing transformational support for communities and organizations.

In her previous role as senior education program officer at The Peter and Carmen Lucia Buck Foundation, Rebecca directed a $65 million K-12 education portfolio. She spearheaded initiatives to advance the foundation’s mission of educational equity and excellence, deploying high-impact, multi-million-dollar grants that have shaped the public education landscape in Connecticut and New York City. Rebecca previously served as the senior vice president of Growth at 50CAN, a national education advocacy nonprofit. There, she successfully scaled advocacy programs and revenue streams across a dozen states, fueling the organization’s ability to champion high-quality educational opportunities for children. Her early career as senior director of development at the Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now demonstrated her knack for building diverse revenue streams and strengthening nonprofit growth strategies.

Rebecca earned an MBA in sustainable management from Presidio Graduate School and bachelor’s degrees in cultural anthropology and studio art from the University of California Santa Barbara. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is deeply engaged in her community, serving on the Connecticut Regional School District #4 Board of Education. She lives in Connecticut with her incredible husband, two bold and determined daughters, two dogs, a cat, and four ducks.
